Event information
Health inequities remain a persistent challenge across the UK, and the burden is particularly stark in kidney disease, where underrepresented groups face higher risk, faster progression, and poorer outcomes.
Our 2024 report Time to act on kidney health inequalities - Kidney Research UK exposes the limited progress since 2018, impacting people’s health and risk of disease. Data science has huge potential to help identify vulnerability earlier and reach people who are often missed by traditional pathways, but it can also deepen inequities if the right populations and data are not represented.
This event will bring together kidney scientists and data scientists with a shared commitment to tackling health inequalities, aiming to spark new collaborations and ideas, and to encourage submissions to Kidney Research UK’s new data science funding round.
