Key information
For our first Data Science and AI round, we invite research proposals addressing kidney-related questions through the full breadth of data science approaches, ranging from bioinformatics and omics to health data science.
Does your proposal align to our research priorities?
Data science and artificial intelligence (AI) are central to the next chapter of kidney research. They will be key for us to deliver the ambitious goals we have set in our 2020–2030 ‘Leading transformation in kidney health’ Charity strategy, and they will remain essential long after 2030.
We aim to accelerate our strategic goals by funding outstanding data science and AI-enabled research that ultimately improves the lives of kidney patients. For our first Data Science round, we invite research proposals addressing kidney-related questions through the full breadth of data science approaches, ranging from bioinformatics and omics to health data science.
In particular, we are keen to receive proposals that:
- Focus on the interplay between cardiovascular, renal and metabolic diseases.
- Employ data science methods to understand and address systemic health inequities in kidney health.
- Aim to further our understanding of kidney disease using publicly-available multiomic and biological data, including (but not limited to) NURTuRE data.
We strongly encourage applications from research teams with shared leadership including a researcher with a kidney research background and a co-PI with a data science/bioinformatics/AI background.
Types of grants available
We welcome applications for the following grant types:
NURTuRE Biobank will wave access fees for NURTuRE datasets for startup grants (not including SAIL fees).
